Travel Insurance is compulsory on all Dragoman trips as it is a condition of booking with Dragoman. When selecting your policy, you must ensure that it is specifically designed for adventure/overland travel. It must cover you for all adventure activities to plan to do, such as white water rafting, trekking and horse riding etc. Please check that the insurer's 24 hour Medical Emergency Assistance company is experienced in handling situations in developing countries. If you already have an annual travel or credit card policy, please check carefully with your insurers to ensure they provide the cover you require, as many limit cover for trekking above certain altitude, riding without a hard hat and rafting above grade 3. Family policies can also be arranged and our insurance partners have special premiums where children travel at substantially reduced rates.
We recommend that any policy has the following minimum levels of cover:

• Medical Expenses (including repatriation) £5,000,000
• Personal Liability £2,000,000
• Cancellation and Curtailment £3,000
• Cover for loss of baggage, personal effects, money and other items is down to personal choice.

Your insurance policy will be checked by your leader on the first day of your trip. Failure to do show a valid insurance policy will mean exclusion from the trip. Please ensure you have your policy number and emergency telephone number for your insurance company. We recommend you carry your insurance policy document with you on your trip. If this is unavailable please ensure you have the necessary information required by your Insurance company in case of an emergency.

Following the announcement by the Government to regulate the sale of all travel insurance from the 1st January 2009, Dragoman will no longer be able to sell travel insurance to clients but are delighted to continue to offer the same extensive overland/adventure travel insurance direct, through specialist Insurance Brokers Campbell Irvine* who have provided our travel insurance for many years.

Vehicle Accident Insurance:

In many countries we visit, the local vehicle insurance includes either very limited passenger accident liability or none at all. We have therefore arranged our own passenger liability protection through Lloyds of London, one of the largest insurance groups in the world. This policy, which is similar to those used by European coach operators, has a total indemnity of £3,000,000 per incident. The high cost of this insurance, which is included in the trip prices, should be considered when comparing our prices with those of some other operators. Your personal travel insurance policy is separate and provides additional benefits to our accident liability policy.
